NEXUS AG strengthens its presence in the Health sector in Spain with the acquisition of OPENLIS

Madrid, 07 November 2024 – NEXUS AG, a leader in technological solutions for the healthcare sector in Europe, has announced today the acquisition of the business line OPENLIS, a software and team specialized in the comprehensive management of hospital laboratories (LIS). This strategic operation expands NEXUS AG's offering in the field of ehealth, while enabling the enhancement of a solution already in use in more than 30 laboratories in Spain (OpenLab in client/server version, OpenLIS in its new web version).

OPENLIS (OPENLAB) offers a wide range of specialized modules, including Microbiology, Biochemistry, Hematology, Immunology and Genetics, covering the essential areas of clinical laboratories and expanding the capacity of centers to manage a wide variety of analyses and studies on a single platform. In addition, OPENLIS (OPENLAB) has an advanced proprietary integration platform based on HL7, which allows easy connection with virtually any modern analyzer, facilitating interoperability and efficiency in the daily work of laboratories.

As part of this acquisition, OPENLIS (OPENLAB) will benefit from the deep technical and functional knowledge that the group has in the development of products for the digitalization of hospital laboratories through its subsidiary Nexus/SwissLab. The support of NEXUS AG, both in experience and financial strength, will allow for continued investment in technological improvements for OPENLIS (OPENLAB), reinforcing its ability to compete in the market for advanced solutions for hospital laboratories and expanding its offering with additional modules for Pathological Anatomy, Cytostatics, Transfusion Medicine and others.

“With the integration of OPENLIS, we are taking another step forward in our mission to offer comprehensive technological solutions with high added value for the health sector,” said David Fernández, General Manager of NEXUS Spain. “OPENLIS will not only strengthen the quality of processes in hospital laboratories, but will also contribute to a more efficient and personalized use of technology for professionals.”

Innovation and experience at the service of the hospitals

The new web-based OPENLIS software has been designed to meet the operational needs of clinical analysis laboratories, from sample management to the issuance of results, and with technological flexibility that allows its deployment both locally and in the cloud. With OPENLIS, NEXUS Spain offers a robust, secure solution that is easily integrated into the digital ecosystem of hospitals, optimizing laboratory performance and improving collaboration with other areas of the center.

The acquisition of OPENLIS (OPENLAB) reinforces NEXUS AG's commitment to innovation and cutting-edge technology in the health sector, and its willingness to invest in solutions that promote the sustainability and development of healthcare in Europe.
